The US magazine Interior design has included Ameba by Vibia, a Pete Sans design, in its annual Best Of Year Awards, selecting it as the best hanging lamp of 2009. This award is doubly welcome because it is chosen by professionals from the world of interiors, design and architecture through on-line voting on the nominated designs. It is only in the culminating phase with five finalists chosen by prescribers in the sector that a jury selects the winner on the basis of its quality and contribution to the field.
The Ameba lamp is formed by 5 different shapes/pieces that can be combined like a puzzle to offer an infinite range of compositions. The possibilities are multiple: from a composition with 2 sections, to a design with infinite shapes, offering unlimited possibilities for every space.
Ameba was also the winner of the Hospitality Design Award presented by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) last year.
