New Minotti flagship store opens in New York

Minotti’s new flagship store has opened at 136 Madison Avenue, in Midtown, Manhattan’s heartbeat. Dordoni Architetti is behind the interior design.

From the outside, you can see three large windows which overlook the street and allow you to catch sight of the interior structure of the store, in all its depth, and of its architectural identity. As you cross the threshold, you realize that the interior has been divided into several levels; five suspended platforms made

of natural black steel arranged from the lower top, reaching a maximum height of 6 metres, getting the visitor to explore and discover Minotti’s large collection of products. To the left of the entrance area, you can find the first platform and the stairs that give access to all the display levels. To the right, a brushed wood panelled wall runs along the depth of the store, encouraging the visitor to take an alternative path, leading to 4 different display areas.

The materials are those typically used for industrial buildings: steel beams and platforms, steel plates, and concrete flooring. The interior atmosphere arises from the colour of the walls, namely warm grey, which results in a simple, rigorous architectural project, skilfully mixed with the light produced by the contrasting Box Lights. Stress should be laid on the peculiar main ceiling, covered with a bright black metal grid, which supports the lighting system.
