On July 22, 2025, Liansheng Pulp & Paper successfully started up their newest coated board making line PM 2. The board machine, with a wire width of 8.85 meters, produces folding boxboard grades and will further strengthen Liansheng Pulp & Paper’s coated board product portfolio and enhance their market competitiveness. The PM 2 project is a model example of fast and effective project execution: It took less than 10 months from the installation of the first dryer cylinder to the full machine line start-up.

The machine started up at a speed of 800 meters per minute and successfully produced its roll of cartonboard. The PM 2 project was built on continuous lessons from previous projects together. At every stage, from design, manufacturing, and delivery to onsite construction and commissioning, the Valmet team worked in close cooperation with the Liansheng team. Valmet’s delivery for PM 2 included an OptiConcept M coated board making line from headboxes to reel, winders, and broke collection. The delivery also included a wide range of automation solutions and comprehensive paper machine clothing and spare part packages, valves for supply systems, and connectivity from Valmet Industrial Internet solutions.
