Marco Dessi found the inspiration for his newest chair Prater while reflecting about traditional Viennese chairs. Prater is a reinterpretation of the traditional chair, in a contemporary way. Prater is made from plywood stacked in layers. Black phenolic resin glue holds the layers together.
The chair has an strong graphic impact. The rigorous constructive approach leaves the impression that Prater could be taken apart into flat modular pieces. Still, the chair has an aura of a strong, fully-grown entity.
