A roof for Chile

Employees at Eka Chile stepped up as aid workers following the earthquake and tsunami that hit the country in February. They spent eight days supporting the community by building houses in Talcahuano.

Plant production personnel participated in the aid organization's program to support those who had lost their homes in the natural disaster. Over eight days they built five 18 square meter wooden houses. Un Techo para Chile, is a non-profit organization that constructs transitional homes and implementing social inclusion programs.

"Everyone who participated feel an enormous pride and gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to society in the current situation" says Isaac Morend, Site Manager for Eka Chile.

Eka Chile's plant is now operational and ready to re-start operations following the earthquake.
