Kranen/Gille have designed the new lamps named Tesla 1 and Tesla 2. Traditional arts and crafts have been put in line by the industrial revolution, which unleashed an aestethic of its own. The forms and images which surround us and slowly became our everyday surroundings are mainly industrial, and carry the story of a production process within hem. Kranen/Gille embrace this everyday form language and juxtaposes the arts and crafts next to the industrial semantics in their work. The result is a hyper industrial lighting object which bears the form and intrinsic value of a reactor, which brings us light and warmth.
The Tesla lamps are grouped on a non-scale pedestal to communicate the feeling of a square on which they are positioned like guards.
