Dev Priya Industries Limited, India commissioned Voith Paper Automation with the stepwise upgrade of the PM 2 at their Meerut location, 70 km northeast of New Delhi. The Indian family-owned business has invested in an OnQ quality control system for the PM 2 test liner and fluting machine, which produces 250 tons per day of corrugated cardboard with a wire width of 4,400 mm. Furthermore, a MD color control as well as a local service contract for the OnQ quality control system are part of the scope of supply.
The aim of the upgrade is to achieve high quality finished products, increased productivity and the minimization of web break. The PM 2 is equipped with an OnQ quality control system that includes a scanner directly before the reel. The scanner is equipped with sensors to measure moisture, basis weight and color. Additionally, in order to achieve consistently high paper quality in machine direction, MD control for moisture and basis weight are installed. Since the smooth start-up in July 2010, the system runs at high satisfaction.
Thanks to the robustness of the system and comprehensive service support, Voith Paper Automation ensures high system availability and thus a low total cost of ownership over the long term with remote and on-site service. "We are impressed with the quality of German engineering, efficiency, reliability and the competence of our contacts. With Voith Paper Automation, we have an automation provider that has deep process knowledge and doesn’t just talk to us about bits and bytes," said Amit Gupta, Technical Director of Dev Priya Industries Limited. He adds: "As a family-owned business, we can identify quite well with the Voith values. Voith is a company that doesn’t abandon its customers and we at Dev Priya are proud to be associated with Voith."
